Our Facility.

Overtime Training Academy is a 20,000 sqft multi-sport indoor facility. It will be home to Washko Strength & Speed and the Springfield Shamrocks Baseball & Softball organization. OTA offers rentals for multiple sports, team practices, private lessons, memberships, camps/clinics/classes, and more. Our goal is to provide a year-round model where athletes and families alike enter our doors for a variety of activities. OTA will feature brand new HVAC systems, state of the art sports equipment, and a brand new look that this building has not yet seen. The large turfed area will have 6 fully retractable baseball and softball cages that are 14’ wide and 70’ long. In addition to the cages, there is a designated multi-purpose area for pitching bullpens and a defensive skills area. Our Owners.

Jared Washko

Jared is a 2008 graduate of Sacred Heart-Griffin H.S. and a 2013 graduate of Illinois State University where he studied Exercise Science. He married his wife, Samantha, in 2016 and they have 4 amazing children: Wes, Ty, Logyn, and Louie. Jared has been a member of the Springfield Fire Department since 2015. He founded Washko Strength & Speed in 2016 and has been dedicated to the craft of making local athletes better ever since. The growth of WSS brought it to where it now resides, inside the building at 3604 N. Peoria Rd. ​

John Cicci

John grew up in Springfield, Illinois. A proud graduate of SHG (’01) and the University of Iowa (’06), he married the love of his life, Jen, in 2010, and together they’re raising four incredible kids—Rudy, Avery, Ben, and Gio. Since 2011, John has served with the Springfield Fire Department. Off shift, he’s usually working on a remodel or building whatever his family dreams up. He’s also a fixture on the sidelines and in the huddle—coaching, mentoring, and mastering the carpool schedule.

Dane Cookson

Dane was born and raised in Springfield and graduated from Lanphier H.S. in 2007. Dane went on to obtain a bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois in Champaign in 2011. Dane met his wife Katherine while attending college together, and they got married in 2011. They have 3 wonderful kids, Olivia, Hannah, and Graham. Dane has been a member of the Springfield Fire Department since 2015 and has also been a full time Realtor serving Springfield and the surrounding area since 2017.
